For the European Union, the Lisbon Treaty could be regarded as a new fundamental treaty, providing an institutional framework and a political process which are both necessary for charting the way forward for an integrated Europe. This course offers not only a comprehensive explanation of the Lisbon Treaty, but also a profound understanding of EU integration through a theoretical and practical consideration of the meaning and problems of the Lisbon Treaty. This knowledge will give as a balanced view, with reference to Political Economy or International Relations. This course offers students key information on the current state of European integration, and a firm methodological foundation from which they can proceed to more specific research projects.
