This introductory course will further the basic study of EU integration. In this class, students will learn about theoretical perspectives on integration, and understand the relationship between theories of European integration and other sub-disciplines of contemporary political science. The course will provide an opportunity for evaluating the EU's public policy, and the direction of reform and its meaning. The significance of the Lisbon Treaty and the issues raised by it will be considered from theoretical and practical view points, and the Lisbon Treaty will be compared with the failed Constitutional Treaty. This course provides a foundation for the subsequent study of the EU.
